Hand/Arm Transplant Worldwide Performance Audio

  • Over 150 hand/arm transplants in 100 patients have been performed worldwide.¹

  • The country that has performed the most hand/arm transplants is the U.S.

  • Many other countries, including Australia, Austria, China, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Spain, and Turkey, have also performed the procedure.²

  • In a study about hand/arm transplantation outcomes and survival rates, there were no deaths in the 50 patients who received a hand/arm transplant (unilateral or bilateral) in the US, Australia, and Western Europe (as of 2015).² In these same 50 patients, the graft survival rate of their transplanted limbs was 90.5% as of 2015.²
